Full descriptions are below: KNIFE BLANK DESCRIPTION (click here to see more images from this items individual page) This blade is handmade from 1095 high carbon steel and 15n20 alternating steel layers. As you may know, 1095 is a traditional and sought after American high carbon steel that is prized for knife blades. It is hardened to about 57-60 on the Rockwell C scale (HRC). This blade is a serious blade that will work well for hunting and outdoor activities. It can be easily sharpened at home or in the field, and will hold an edge very well. It is genuine layered damascus steel (not fake or imitation damascus). Blank may require additional sharpening. Please ensure your blade/knife fits within all the specifications listed below: Fits up to 5" long Tracker blade. Fits up to 2.1" wide Tracker blade (2.125" wide blades are a tight fit). Fits up to 0.75" thick knife handle (Thicker handles are not supported. The button will not snap on handles which are too thick). High quality Tracker style knife sheath. 8.25" total length sheath (outer dimension). 2" wide at sheath opening. 1/8" Thick Genuine Buffalo Leather. White stitching. High quality. Belt loop on back fits up to 1 1/2" width belt. These sheaths are custom made for us. Last photo shows how the sheath will look with a Tracker knife fit inside it. Knife not included. HANDLE MATERIAL DESCRIPTION (click here to see more images from this items individual page) This is a beautiful pair of handle making scales for making a knife. This is a set of naturally occurring buffalo horn. They will often have natural yellow/gold streaks going throughout them which gives an exceptionally handsome look. They look very impressive and will make a gorgeous handle for your knife. We have these custom made for our store and you wont find these anywhere else. You get 2 scales with each set. Dimensions: Length: 5 inches approximately Width: 1.5 inches approximately Height: 3/8 inch approximately (Thickness varies with material texture) Note: This item is made with naturally occurring animal material. Each piece will be unique and may vary in dimensions, color, thickness or texture. Tips for working with this buffalo horn: As buffalo horn is a very dense material, the colored dye is only able to penetrate the very outer layer of the horn (1-2mm deep approximately). If thinning the scales is required, it is recommended that you sand the back-side of the scales (facing your blades handle), to leave as much of the outside of the buffalo horn as untouched as possible. When shaping your handle, it is recommended to leave as much of the flat, colored outer surface of the buffalo horn as untouched as possible. In this manner you will retain as much color as possible in your final handle. Sometimes the pieces may require sanding to become perfectly flat. A standard belt sander works well for this job. When working with buffalo horn, any sanded or cut portions will turn a dull gray color. This is normal, and is not the final color. The final step of buffing and polishing buffalo horn is a must, as it will darken and become glossy with a brilliant sheen. Save money when buying this kit, and save even more when buying two!
